Music and art have been part of Steven Williams aka Klyde Drexler’s life from a very young age. Both of his parents share an extreme love for music, and by the age of 13 he had already attended roughly 10 concerts. For his 16th birthday he only wanted two things, a pair of technics. Using his father’s extensive record collection he began mixing music together and for his senior talent show he threw down an original mix of NWA’s “Straight out of Compton” with MJ’s “Billy Jean.”
The first warehouse party he attended was Bad Boy Bill in 1998 . It was at 3 am that next morning that he fell in love with HOUSE music. His top influences have always been ARMAND VAN HELDEN, ERIC PRYDZ and FEDDE LE GRAND.
Klyde Drexler has been spinning in the Portland club scene for 4 years now and started producing in 2012. He has recently opened for BORGEOUS, FEENIXPAWL , CHRIS LAKE and DIGITAL LAB. His favorite style of house is dutch/electro, and he hopes to one day spin on the beaches of Spain.
When he isn’t traveling the country attending festivals and working on music he is making the people in PDX dance at his residency at Fez nightclub every saturday night.
